The Big Race is one of the most exciting family events in Redding!
Hosted by the Active 20-30 Club of Redding, this free community event is designed to bring families together for creativity, healthy competition, and outdoor fun.
The Big Race takes place
Sunday, May 3, 2026
from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
at 777 Cypress Avenue in Redding, California
(Softball Park Behind City Hall)
Bring the whole family and join us for a day of fun, creativity, and racing excitement!
Prior to the event, kids from around the community will build and decorate their own cardboard race cars then compete in a fun race around a baseball field.
Whether your child wants to build the fastest race car or the most creative one, The Big Race is the perfect family-friendly activity in Redding. The fastest racers will win trophies, but the real goal is creativity and fun.
This FREE event also includes:

• Fun games and activities
• Healthy snacks and refreshments
• Prize and Raffle Tickets
• Music and family entertainment
Races will be divided into three age groups:
• Ages 6 and under
• Ages 7–9
• Ages 10 and up
Parents must accompany their children at the event.
